Building Permit

Any person who intends to undertake a construction, transformation, expansion or addition project to buildings and major renovation work must, prior to the start of the work, obtain a building permit issued by the designated official of the municipality.

Certificate of Authorization

Any person who, in whole or in part, intends to modify the use or destination of a building, as well as carry out clearing, backfilling, humus movement, demolition, transport of manufactured or unmanufactured buildings , must, prior to the start of the work, obtain a certificate of authorization issued by the designated official of the municipality.

  • Extension permit

  • Accessory building permit

  • Deck permit

  • Access permit for work in the shoreline

    To obtain an access permit for work in the shoreline, you must complete this form and send it by email to inspector@lowquebec.ca or take it to the municipal office.

  • Certificate of authorization

    Certificate of authorization

    Any person who, in whole or in part, intends to modify the use or destination of a building, as well as carry out clearing, backfilling, humus movement, demolition, transport of manufactured or unmanufactured buildings , must, prior to the start of the work, obtain a certificate of authorization issued by the designated official of the municipality.

    In a non-limiting manner, a certificate of authorization is required for all the following projects:

    • The transportation or demolition of a building;
    • The erection of a fence, wall or hedge;
    • The installation of a swimming pool with a water depth of 60 centimeters or more and the installation of a whirlpool bath or thermal bath with a capacity of more than 2000 liters;
    • The construction or modification of a sign, poster or billboard;
    • The operation of a quarry, gravel pit, sand pit or mining establishment;
    • Work on the bank and shoreline;
    • Work on wetlands and their protection zone;
    • The installation of wastewater evacuation elements;
    • The installation of an artesian well, surface well and/or any other water supply source;
    • Tree felling, deforestation or logging work;
    • Minor renovation work;

    Please complete the backfill form (renewable every 3 years) and send it by email to inspector@lowquebec.ca or bring it to the municipal office.
